This places a visible signature image, which is what almost every everyday agreement needs. It is not a cryptographic digital certificate signature.
Signing without printing
Print, sign, scan, email is a ritual rather than a requirement. Almost every document that asks for a signature will be accepted with an electronic one, and the round trip through a printer adds nothing except a worse-looking document.
Two different things called signing
An electronic signature is a mark of intent — your name written, typed or drawn on the page, showing you agreed. A digital signature is a cryptographic certificate that proves the file has not changed since it was signed. Most requests, from landlords to employers to schools, mean the first.
Making it look right
- Draw with a finger or stylus on a touchscreen rather than a mouse, which produces the shaky line everyone recognises.
- Size it to the space. A signature that overruns the line looks pasted on.
- Keep the background transparent so the page shows through, rather than sitting in a white box.
- Add the date in a separate text box rather than trying to include it in the drawn signature.
After signing
Any later edit to a signed document — merging it, adding pages, rotating it — comes after the signature and changes the file it applies to. Sign last. If the document also needs page numbers or a watermark, add those first.

Is a signature made here legally valid?
In most countries an electronic signature is valid for ordinary agreements, but rules vary and some documents need a certified signature. Check what your specific situation requires.
Does my signature get stored anywhere?

Can I reuse the same signature on other documents?
Yes. Save the image once and place it wherever it is needed rather than redrawing it each time.
Should I sign before or after merging?
After. Merging changes the document, and a signature applies to the document as it stood when it was signed.
What if the recipient insists on a wet signature?
Some documents — certain deeds, wills and notarised papers — genuinely require ink. Those are the exception rather than the rule, and the requesting party will say so.
