How to organize PDF pages without rebuilding the document
Reordering moves pages within a single document. Nothing is converted and nothing is re-encoded — the pages are written out in the order you set, with their content untouched.
Work visually, not numerically
Reordering from a list of page numbers is where mistakes happen, because every move renumbers everything after it. Dragging thumbnails avoids the problem entirely: you can see what you are moving and where it lands.
The common jobs
- Moving a cover or signature page to the front or back.
- Interleaving two one-sided scans, where one stack is in reverse order.
- Grouping pages that arrived out of sequence from a scanner feeder.
- Rotating the pages a scanner picked up sideways, without touching the rest.
Double-sided scans
Scanning a double-sided document in two passes gives you all the fronts in order, then all the backs in reverse. Reversing the second half and interleaving is the fix, and doing it here is far quicker than rescanning.
Check the result at the joins
As with merging, errors cluster where the order changes rather than being spread through the document. Read the page before and after each move and you will catch almost everything.

Questions people ask
Can I rotate a single page here too?
Yes — each thumbnail has its own rotate control, so you can fix one sideways scan without touching the rest.
Does reordering pages affect quality?
No. Pages are written out in a different order with their content copied across as-is, so text stays selectable and images keep their resolution.
Will links and bookmarks still point at the right pages?
Internal links follow their target page, so they keep working. A table of contents typed as plain text will not update itself and needs checking.
Can I reorder and delete in the same pass?
Yes, and it saves a round trip. Remove what you do not need first, then arrange what is left — fewer pages to move.
